Video: Lo-Fang, ‘Look Away’

Lo-Fang’s evocative early releases, featuring a happy marriage of electro-pop and strings, have made his full-length debut “Blue Fin” one of the most hotly anticipated releases of early 2014. The nom de tune of Washington, D.C., native Matthew Hemerlein, Lo-Fang make music for late nights and date nights, both of which, ostensibly, would involve weighty conversations about more than the latest memes. With this week’s album announcement – “Blue Fin” will be out Feb. 25 on 4AD – comes the video for “Look Away,” which sees the classically trained Hemerlein operating at a higher tempo than he did on the beautifully glacial “#88” or his cover of BOY’s “Boris,” both of which came out on vinyl in October. The album will include his gorgeous cover of the “Grease” hit “You’re the One That I Want” as well. Cheers.
