‣ Long-running Bay area singer-songwriter John Vanderslice brings his sophisticated indie-rock to the Bootleg Bar. Vanderslice’s latest album is titled “Dagger Beach,” his 10th, and he also this year released “John Vanderslice Plays Diamond Dogs,” his re-creation of David Bowie’s 1974 gem. Bent Shapes open tonight’s show.
‣ New Jersey punk rockers Screaming Females rock the Echoplex behind their latest EP “Chalk Tape,” and they’ll be joined by Don Giovanni Records labelmates Upset at the Echoplex.
‣ Brooklyn garage-punkers Obits visit the Echo behind their latest release on Sub Pop, “Bed & Bugs.” Rob Crow’s Gloomy Place and Obliterations support. That’s their video for “operation Bikini,” above.
‣ Scorchin’ night of local rock at the Viper Room, where Prima Donna shares the bill with the Black Tibetans, Adam Bones and the After Hours.
‣ Oh, and some dude named Drake plays the Honda Center in O.C..
