Spiritualized to christen downtown’s Theatre at Ace with Feb. 14 performance of ‘Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space’

The Theatre at Ace, the newest concert venue in downtown Los Angeles, opens in a big way on Feb. 14 when U.K. psychedelic rockers Spiritualized stage a performance of their 1997 masterpiece “Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space.” The band, fronted by Jason Pierce (pictured playing a stripped-down set at Coachella in April), will perform backed by a 30-piece orchestra and choir.
The theater – the rehabbed, 2,200-seat United Artists Theatre, which opened in 1927 – is conjoined to the new Ace Hotel, scheduled to open in January. Tickets for the show (starting at $59) go on sale Thursday.
Oh, and the concert hall looks pretty spectacular:
