Pop quintet Youngblood Hawke and electronic explorer Baths will headline the first two nights of the popular First Fridays series at the Natural History Museum.

press_final2Youngblood Hawke [top], which last April released its debut album “Wake Up,” kicks off the series on Jan. 10 (which is actually the second Friday, ostensibly to give concert-goers a chance to bounce back from their New Year’s hangovers). Conway opens the night, performing in the Hall of North American Mammals, and Anthony Valadez and Jeremy Sole will DJ in the nearby African Mammal Hall. Baths [inset] whose second album “Obsidian” came out in May, teams up with electro duo Peaking Lights on Feb. 7, with Valadez joined on the decks by King Most.

The theme for the museum’s six-month series this year is “L.A. Stories – Walk on the Wild Side.” As always, the nights kick off at 5 p.m. with tours, lectures and discussions.
