The best and the rest of Wednesday:
‣ Rosanne Cash, appearing with John Leventhal, plays songs from her new album “The River and the Thread” (out next week) at the Troubadour.
‣ Pop provocateur Ethan Gold headlines the Bootleg Bar, playing his 2011 gem “Songs From a Toxic Apartment” in its entirety – and projecting all nine videos from the album. (Attendees get a copy of the album.) Above: Gold’s new video for “They Turned Away,” a think piece if there ever was one.
‣ Jesus Sons, their debut album on the way Jan. 28, play El Cid, supported by Santoros.
‣ The Lonely Wild take on the Detroit Bar, supported by the Janks and Robert Jon & the Wreck.
‣ And guitar virtuoso Eric McFadden reprises his residency from last January at the Mint, kicking off a run of Wednesdays with a guest-laden lineup.
