You may recognize the name Daniel Rossen if you are a Grizzly Bear or Department of Eagles fan. The avid multi-instrumentalist took the solo leap in 2012 with his EP, “Silent Hour/Golden Mile,” but quickly delved back into work with Grizzly Bear, leaving the EP to be lost to the saturated market. Rossen’s solo material evokes a humble loneliness and massages the introvert inside all of us. The ballad “Return to Form” is just one of five finely crafted songs comprised of layer upon layer of delicate instrumentation. Rossen’s fragile falsetto articulates the plaintive lyrics, including, “Your failures etched in fallow land / And draw whispers from the crowd / Return to dark again.” Having finally found some downtime between his well-known projects, Rossen will embark on his first solo tour in March. The national tour is scheduled to hit major cities, with support from William Tyler.
