A many-splendored Wednesday:

‣ Austin orchestral rock collective Mother Falcon – all 18 or so of them – kicks off a Wednesday residency at the Echo. They made a quite a splash last year at SXSW, and in November released their full-length “You Knew.” The Herbert Bail Orchestra opens.
‣ And speaking of strings, the Vitamin String Quartet, the L.A.-based ensemble that adapts your favorite hits for a string quartet, makes its live debut at the Troubadour.
‣ New folk-rock quartet Bootstraps continue their residency at the Hotel Café on a night that includes performances by  Miranda Lee Richards, Broken Arrow, Banta, Son of the Velvet Rat and Rachel Goodrich.
‣ Shooter Jennings is doing a night at Loaded Hollywood – the “Shooter and Friends” nights includes Ted Russell Kamp, Jonathan Tyler, Ray Wylie Hubbard and Uncle Daddy.
