‣ Genre-mashing singer-songwriter-cellist Ben Sollee [pictured] does a night at the Luckman Fine Arts Complex. He recently teamed up with 18-piece orchestra Mother Falcon to cover Daft Punk [download here] and released the free album “The Hollow Sessions,” the follow-up to his fourth full-length “Half-Made Man.”
‣ Singer-songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter, abetted by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, holds forth at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
‣ White Denim is back for a second night at the Troubadour, with Clear Plastic Masks opening.
‣ Canadian dubstep dude Excision heads up a huge night at hte Shrine Expo Hall that inclueds Dirtyphonics, EPTIC, CRNKN and Ill.Gates.
‣ The Warlocks celebrate the release of their latest album “Skull Worship” with a show at the Bootleg, supported by Tashaki Miyaki, Von Haze, Cat Museum, Raw Geronimo and Drinking Flowers.
