Run to the light, they’re going to eat us! No, run away from the light, they’re going to eat us there too! And there you have the video for “Cannibal,” the new single from Silversun Pickups. Except, of course, for the part where the L.A. quartet is stationed on a concrete slab jamming the song, with Nikki Monninger’s electroshock bass line and Christopher Guanlao’s pummeling rhythms eating you alive. The song, we feel obliged to mentioned, appears on “Silversun Pickups: The Singles Collection,” out next week, featuring six slabs of 7-inch vinyl (and other goodies, if the price doesn’t take a bite out of ya). We’re more a fan of “Well Thought Out Twinkles” than questionably thought out videos, and flipping through all that vinyl is sure to keep us busy until SSPU’s full-length No. 4.
