If nothing else, Sunday’s close to the first weekend of Coachella 2014 demonstrated one mantra: This festival can be anything you want it to be. You just have to manage the traffic.

At the beginning Sunday, there was Bo Ningen, underground and unhinged. At the end, there was Arcade Fire, spreading communal festival spirit as only they can, romping around the grounds post-midnight with members of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. In the middle, there were breakout performances from Blood Orange, Rudimental and Big Gigantic; incredible outings from legacy acts such as Superchunk, Neutral Milk Hotel and Motörhead; the ostentatious indulgence of Calvin Harris; and the positively sublime craft of Beck.

Not even the stain of Justin Bieber materializing on the Main Stage (full blame goes to somebody named Chance the Rapper) could ruin this sunny Coachella Sunday. Besides, there were plenty of truly special guests who joined billed artists … Did we mention Debbie Harry? We will.

Following is our Sunday coverage.
