Who:Â Disclosure at the Outdoor Theatre
In 3 or Fewer Words:Â Star-studded set
Memorable Because:Â Although “When a Fire Starts to Burn” was a few notches quieter than the crowd would have liked during the first quarter of Disclosure’s set, brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence turned it up as soon as Beck’s set ended over at the Main Stage. Blasting their beloved catalog of intelligent dance music, the Lawrence brothers also brought out some special guests. Aluna Francis of AlunaGeorge came out for “White Noise,” Mary J. Blige made an appearance for vocals on “F For You” and Sam Smith (who will be playing L.A. Â Tuesday and Wednesday at the Belasco Theatre) came out for the vocals on their biggest hit-to-date “Latch.” Disclosure even gave fans a flashback to 2013’s Coachella set with a remix of “Running.” Unfortunately Jessie Ware wasn’t here to provide the smokey vocals this time around.
What I’d Tell My Friend Who Was At Beck:Â Nice choice. He was loud and proud.
