Above: That’s the video for “Is This How You Feel?” by the Preatures. The Australian alt-pop quintet perform Monday at Bardot and Tuesday at the Echo in support of their EP of the same name. The Preatures are currently working on a full-length for a U.S. release via Harvest Records.
Our staff picks of the week:
@KRBronson recommends: The Natural History Museum’s First Fridays series ends its annual sixth-month run with a special outdoors show featuring Unknown Mortal Orchestra, De Lux, Tobacco and Painted Palms. Then rest up for Saturday, because it time again for Make Music Pasadena, the free-for-all in the Crown City that features more than 125 artists playing at more than 25 venues. Among the performers: Surfer Blood, Tennis, Yuna, Finish Ticket, Sylvan Esso, Saint Motel and the Record Company.
@Seraphina_L recommends: If you can’t get into either show featuring the Preatures from Australia on Monday or Tuesday, your best bet for another pop show is MØ and Erik Hassle at the Troubadour on Wednesday. MØ, a Danish pop artist who released the excellent “No Mythologies to Follow,” and Hassle, a Swedish pop artist who will be supporting his “Somebody’s Party” EP, will give you a double dose pop charisma and talent.
