IndependentFM-squareAs I like to say when it’s Friday, “Happy Friday.” Today’s Buzz Bands LA Show on The Independent FM is certainly giddy with anticipation. Saturday night sees the kickoff of this year’s Chinatown Summer Nights, so I’ll have tunes from four of the bands playing there: EFG (Electric Flower Group), StaG, Kera & the Lesbians and Babes. Then there are the new arrivals – fresh songs from Matt Kivel, Henry Pope, Distant Cousins, Tijuana Panthers, the Record Company, Devon Williams, the Fontaines, Wet & Reckless and Northern Youth. Overall, it’s a wide-ranging two hours of home-cooked music, and it kicks off at 11 a.m. Pull up a set of headphones.
