“We have Daddy issues,” Babes say in introducing the video for the unreleased song “Dad.” Indeed, the Silver Lake quintet with a wry and playfully ribald take on retro-pop strikes a poignant note in in director Elise Holowicki’s video, at least for those with patriarchal quandaries. (And who might they be? Check your Facebook feed, which has these days serves as a public confessional for all manner of family problems.) Anyway, this is a brilliant video. Like the band says: “Sorry, Dad. Happy Father’s Day.”
