School of Seven Bells announced today it would release a new album – featuring parts recorded by producer-guitarist Benjamin Curtis before his diagnosis with lymphoma and during his treatment. Curtis died on Dec. 29 at age 35. SVIIB’s Alejandra Deheza says she is working on completing the new album, the follow-up to 2012’s “Ghostory.” Meanwhile, there is this bit of beautiful but heart-wrenching music: a cover of Joey Ramone’s “I Got Knocked Down (But I’ll Get Up),” from Ramone’s 2002 solo album, that Curtis recorded on his laptop from his hospital bed in New York City. There’s a stunning video for the song from directors Toby Halbrooks and Alan Del Rio Ortiz that you can view here.
