Have a safe Fourth of July:

Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers and Edie Brickell do a third night at the Hollywood Bowl, capped by the venue’s signature fireworks display.
‣ Semi Precious Weapons plays the pre-fireworks set (8:15 p.m.) at radio station 98.7’s ALTimate Block Party, the free concert going off at Grand Park in downtown L.A. The music starts at 4 with Freedom Fry, followed by Echosmith (4:20), Brick + Mortar (5:15), Phantogram (6:10) and Wild Cub (7:20). There’s a rooftop fireworks display at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion afterwards.
The Warlocks’ Smokeout brings a dozen psych-rock bands to the Bootleg for an evening of music and pyrotechnics. Besides the hosts, there are Magic Wands, L.A. Witch, LSD & the Search for God and Darklands, along with Savage Gospel, Von Haze, Super 78, Drinking Flowers, Leaf, Cat Museum, Loto Ball and Blood Candy.
‣ And another free, family appropriate show – Night Train Music Club, an all-star outfit made up of touring members of marquee bands, plays the free series at Levitt Pavilion Pasadena. Tom Freund, Dan Navarro and Amilia Spicer are featured performers.
