Brooklyn-based trio Bear In Heaven don’t exactly have it easy as the industry is presented with a new synth-heavy act every day. Luckily for them and for us, they do it very well. Comprised of Jon Philpot, Adam Wills and new drummer Jason Nazarey, Bear In Heaven are due to release their fourth album “Time Is Over One Day Old†on Aug. 5 on Dead Oceans. “Autumn,” the most recent release from this forthcoming album, is a perfect blend of both lust and control. Bear In Heaven could potentially be called synth-pop, indie-electronica, synth-rock, experimental-rock … but ultimately, there is no adequate hyphenate to properly describe their disguised ephemeral pop gems. Along with Philpot’s vocals that move through each track like a smooth machine, they create audible psychedelic texture and dance-worthy backbeats for our spaciest times of day.
