Veterans of Arcade Fire shows big and small know what kind of fervid, communal experience concerts by the Canadian rockers can be. The weekend’s shows at the Forum – once a sports and concert arena, then a church, and now back to a concert arena – were that and more. Starting with Dan Deacon’s dance party, and finishing with a big outing by the headliners, the night was typically revivalesque, a career-spanning set including “Reflektor” and all its brightness, the “Neighborhoods” and “Rebellions” from way back when and even a snippet of the mid-’80s hit “Axel F” by Harold Faltermeyer.

actually, the opening act was a reunited Montreal band The Unicorns playing it’s first show in 10 years. Seems Arcade Fire had at one point opened for them. So a reunited Unicorns takes to the stage at The Forum for its first show back and they played night 2 also. They made some announcement that it had been 18 years but a liitle google help lads me to believe it was only 10.
