‣ Ska-punk is apparently still going strong. L.A.-based quartet the Interrupters celebrate this week’s release of their Tim Armstrong-produced album with a show at the Roxy Theatre, supported by L.A. stalwarts Left Alone. Freedom Fry [see “The Wilder Mile”] celebrates the release of its new EP by playing It’s a School Night at Bardot on a bill that features England’s Liam Bailey along with Criminal Hygiene and Figs Vision.
Maudlin Strangers [see “Stay Young”] kick off a residency at the Bootleg HiFi, supported by TJ Mizell, Leland and Pollimer.
‣ Brand-new quartet Tete has the Echo residency, debuting with Wyatt Blair, Feels and Dead Pansies.
‣ Downstairs at the Echoplex, it’s Smoke Season [see “Badlands”], supported by Dark Furs, Haunted Summer and Air Life. at the Echoplex
The Futures League kicks off a residency at the Satellite, with Irontom supporting.
Dustin Lovelis [see “Off the Rails”] has the residency at the Wayfarer (fka Detroit Bar] in Costa Mesa. Forest of Tongue and Sandy Cohen join him tonight.
‣ And at the Silverlake Lounge, We Are Kings & Queens kick off a month-long run, supported by Honey & Wax, Mr K and Burning Jet Black.
