The sun barely shone on San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park during Saturday’s second day of Outside Lands, but there was no gloom in the festival’s big performances. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis packed the Twin Peaks stage, playing opposite main-stage headliners Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, with Macklemore [top photo] sending a few good-natured jibes that direction and breaking in the set for a same-sex marriage proposal onstage. L.A. entries Local Natives, Haim and Capital Cities played huge sets, and Death Cab for Cutie, breaking from working on their eighth album, continue their run of strong festival apperances. Buzz Bands LA’s Carl Pocket negotiated the huge crowds and sent along this gallery.
