KCSN2014NEW-500It’s another scorchin’ Sunday, the first of a new month, and the first weekend of a month with so many concert and festival options that my head is spinning. In the next two weeks alone, there are Tarfest, the Chinatown Moon Festival, the Sunset Strip Music Festival and Lobsterfest, and that’s just a partial list. Tonight’s Buzz Bands LA Show on KCSN (88.5 FM, streaming at KCSN.org) will showcase a bit of music from all those lineups, and I’ll still have time for new music from Avi Buffalo, Strange Babes, Banks, Eddie Cohn and Black Hi-Lighter. Also in the mix tonight are Hunter Hunted, the Moth & the Flame, Kan Wakan, Dorothy, Beat Club and Cold War Kids. Plus, my weekly “Flashback Track” will rewind 20 years to 1994 – then fast-forward to a recent collaboration by the same artist. It all starts at 9 p.m. Tune in, won’t you?

After the jump, tonight’s playlist (subject to last-minute tweaking):

Strange Babes, “Holiday”
Avi Buffalo, “Think It’s Gonna Happen Again”
Eddie Cohn, “Don’t Disappear Yet”
Kan Wakan, “Like I Need you”
Banks, “Beggin for Thread”
The Moth & the Flame, “Sorry”
Hunter Hunted, “Keep Together”
Black Hi-Lighter, “Let Love Be a Drug”
Starflyer 59, “Hazel Would” *
The New Division, “Honest (feat. Starflyer 59)”
Dorothy, “After Midnight”
Beat Club, “Red & Purple Walls”
Shana & the Hooligans, “Get Gone”
Cold War Kids, “All This Cold Be Yours”
Nightmare & the Cat, “Desert Heir”
Meg Myers, “Go”

… thanks for listening …
