Help me close the books on another wonderful SoCal weekend by joining me at 9 tonight on KCSN (88.5 FM, streaming at KCSN.org) for the L.A. Buzz Bands Show. I’ll have new music from Meiko, Henry Wolfe, Matt Ellis, BORNS, Francisco the Man, Soft Swells and Raw Fabrics, along with recent favorites Wildcat! Wildcaat!, White Arrows and Avid Dancer. This week’s “Flashback Track” will rewind to 1993, and I’ll have a songs from a couple of the bands playing the undercard (Corners and Adult Books) at next Saturday’s Moon Block Party in Pomona. Because, y’know, we always like to get to festivals to see the early bands. Sixty minutes, lots of action. Below, the playlist, subject to last-minute tweaking:
Soft Swells, “Go!”
Francisco the Man, “Big Ideas”
Wildcat! Wildcat!, “Hero”
White Arrows, “We Can’t Ever Die”
Beat Club, “Red & Purple Walls”
Henry Wolfe, “Encino”
Meiko, “Lose It”
Corners, “Love Letters”
Adult Books, “In Love Again”
** Possum Dixon, “Watch the Girl Destroy Me”
Raw Fabrics, “Down the Drain”
Matt Ellis, “On the Horizon”
BORNS, “10,000 Emerald Pools”
Avid Dancer, “I Want to See You Dance”
Pr0files, “Call Yourself a Lover”
** “Flashback Track” from 1993.
