L.A. duo Magic Bronson’s steeped-in-cool fusion of synth-pop, rock and hip-hop is more than a little bit addictive, and you don’t know whether to credit Matthew Lieberman’s intoxicating bass lines or Michael Nicastro’s sometimes-sexy, sometimes-stoned vocals. They’ve hit upon something that straddles two or three musical worlds, and their forthcoming full-length debut “Wildlife” (out Nov. 4 via War Cry Records) would be equally at home, as the Elias Talbot- and Ixel Madrigalat-directed video for “Fences” suggests, in dance clubs or at backyard parties. The follow-up to last year’s “Nor’easter” EP, “Wildlife” was conceived in a shoebox studio in the Valley and recorded mostly at In the Pocket Studio in woodsy Forestville, Calif. Says Nicastro: “I do like that people have a hard time putting a finger on exactly what or who we sound like.” Here, hard times can be fun.
