‣ The Culture Collide festival kicks off at multiple venues in Echo Park, its internationally flavored lineup highlighted by Danish singer MØ (recently added to the lineup), along with the likes of De Lux, Holychild, Haunted Summer, Until the Ribbon Breaks and more. ‣ U.K. greats Massive Attack visit the Greek Theatre, supported by Clark.
‣ A new album titled “Aureate Gloom” in the works, Of Montreal holds forth at the Mayan Theater, supported by Pillar Point, the side project of Throw Me the Statue’s Scott Reitherman.
‣ J Roddy Walston & the Business rock the Troubadour behind their latest album “Essential Tremors,” with Fly Golden Eagle opening.
‣ Minneapolis synth-pop darlings Polica play the first of two nights at the Roxy Theatre.
‣ SBTRKT and GoldLink are back for a second night at the Belasco Theater.
‣ Irish singer-songwriter Hozier – he with the single titled “Take Me to the Church” – gives a show at the Cathedral Sanctuary at Immanuel Presbyterian Church.
‣ Note: The Safe in Sound Festival, with Adventure Club, Caked Up, Destroid, Flux Pavilion and Terravita, has been canceled, although Saturday’s date at the Hollywood Palladium with the same lineup is on.
