The final Monday in October, and it’s a good one:
‣ Bi-coastal synth-pop trio Faded Paper Figures (John Williams teaches at Yale; Heather and Kael Alden are based in L.A.) headline the Viper Room behind their new album “Relics,” their fourth. Above, their new video for “Breathing.”
‣ U.K. singer-songwriter Ben Howard [see “I Forget Where We Were”] holds forth at the El Rey Theatre.
‣ Big finale for Planets’ residency at the Satellite – Oklahoma’s Broncho joins the fun, along with Australia’s the Delta Riggs. And the midnight surprise guest? Robert DeLong.
‣ Rachael Yamagata plays the Troubadour, supported by the Dove & the Wolf and Hemming.
‣ French punk-rockers La Femme and Liverpool quartet Circa Waves highlight the lineup at It’s a School Night at Bardot, where Seinabo Sey and Saskwatch also play.
‣ Magic Giant winds up a residency at the Bootleg HiFi, supported by James Alan and Max Jury.
‣ Dream Boys celebrate the release of their new 7-inch at their residency finale at the Echo. Steppe People, Crystal Skulls and Susan also perform.
‣ And Aeges rock the Silverlake Lounge one final Monday, supported by State to State and Legal Tender.
