Happy birthday, Lorde. The New Zealand singer-songwriter, born Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, turns 18 today (it’s already Friday in Auckland), so her people thought it timely that the video for “Yellow Flicker Beat” land just as she began celebrating. The song is from the soundtrack to “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay” (which will be released Nov. 17). The video is the work of filmmaker Emily Kai Bock, who has worked with Arcade Fire, Grizzly Bear, Grimes and most recently Majical Cloudz. The striking series of vignettes was filmed while Lorde was on tour.
