The Regent Theater in downtown L.A. continued to celebrate its grand opening with the second night of Downtown Festival. Acts such as Connan Mockasin, Mr. Elevator & the Brain Hotel, Lydia Ainsworth, Corners and DJ Travis Holcombe continued the party with Downtown Records. Despite the house lights turning on at least once during every set (and eventually yielding the arrival of a fire truck), the Regent seemed to be in pretty good shape. Headliner Connan Mockasin eventually had the entire room sitting down for story time, but not without a surprise guests first. Mac DeMarco, who plays the Fonda on tonight and Monday, crashed the party. As you can see in the top photo, Mockasin and DeMarco were happy to see each other.
