When the Julie Ruin’s long-delayed tour arrived at the Troubadour on Thursday night, it figured to offer more than just the sharp-edged punk rock on last fall’s album “Run Fast.” And feminist punk torchbearer Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill, Le Tigre) and her crew – bassist Kathi Wilcox, keyboardist Kenny Mellman, guitarist Sara Landeau and drummer Carmine Covelli – did not disappoint. Hanna, whose ongoing treatment for Lyme disease forced cancellation of an ambitious spring and summer tour schedule, regaled the crowd with banter in between songs, noting that her mother was in the audience somewhere, and, clad in a Black Flag T-shirt and panty hose, jokingly asked if anybody remember Leggs. She also introduced Hari Kondabolu, who warmed up the crowd with some jokes. Canadian band DIANA preceded the Julie Ruin with songs from their new release “Perpetual Surrender,” and NYC quartet Bad Girlfriend got the night started with a short dose of noisy surf-rock.
