Valerie Anne Poxleitner, the Canadian multi-instrumentalist who makes music as Lights, has confessed to having trepidation when it came to writing the songs for her new album “Little Machines,” her first in three years. None of that was evident Tuesday night at the Fonda Theatre, where the 27-year-old synth-pop darling gave an electric performance to a sold-out crowd. Fronting a four-piece and commanding the stage, Lights was full of energy and of voice, belting out singles from the new album such as “Up We Go” and revisiting her 2011 album “Siberia” and 2009’s “The Listening.” As her fans reacted ecstatically, Lights confessed that she felt “lucky” to be singing and writing for them and felt gracious to see them “singing [her] lyrics.” Texas’ Wild Party opened.
