With an R&B swagger incorporated into their sound since the beginning, The Neighbourhood has recently been able to ease themselves into the hip-hop world by teaming up with artists such as Danny Brown, Raury and Casey Veggies. The quintet goes for another collaboration with rapper French Montana on their new single “#icanteven,” a track inspired by frontman Jesse Rutherford’s personal relationship woes. With the vocals especially altered after the fact, a break-up anthem was born and is now the latest single from the Neighbourhood’s upcoming mixtape, “#000000 & #FFFFFF” (HTML code for black and white, which, of course, is the band’s aesthetic of choice).
