► The annual Satellite Nights — eight nights of free shows at the Silver Lake venue — kick off with Dorothy headling up a lineup that includes Green Gerry, Paper Pilots and Wax Children.
â–º Jimmy Gnecco, the frontman of alt-rockers Ours, begins a five-week residency at the Viper Room, vowing to play old songs and new. Beck Black and Bartholomew support.
â–º Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue hits the house of Blues Anaheim, with bluesy trio and the Record Company.
â–º Happy 17th anniversary to the Smell — the first of the venue’s sold-out celebration weekend shows features Cherry Glazerr, Girlpool, Roses, Surf Curse and Moaning.
â–º And there’s a free, intimate show at Taix featuring Joel Jerome, Globelamp, Trevor Beld-Jimenez and Pearl Charles.
