Emily Gold debuted in 2013 with her “Wrap You In Dreams” EP, which was dedicated to her late father, the songwriter Andrew Gold. She returns with a full-length later this year, titled “Recluse,” and the first single “Cyanide Lollipop,” made with songwriter/producer David Burris, demonstrates that she’s digging deeper beyond the velvety ballads on her debut. Gold’s honeyed vocals take on a new bite as she tells a boy “I’ll make your limbs numb” and “I’ll make you taste blood.” It’s sweet vs. raw, after all, like you’d imagine a “Cyanide Lollipop.”
