Canadian duo Megan James and Corin Roddick, aka Purity Ring, will return March 3 with a new album titled “Another Eternity.” It’s the follow-up to their well-received 2012 debut “Shrines (it made it onto this blogger’s year-end list) and the first record James and Roddick actually co-wrote in the same room. Based on the first two samples from the album, it sounds like this new type of union may lead to a great 2015. The first single “Push Pull” broke through duo’s usual brooding walls and touched on more accessible electro-pop, but Purity Ring’s latest single “Begin Again” brings back the juxtaposition of sensual beats and saccharine-sweet vocals that intoxicated us the first time we heard the R&B-laced “Fineshrine” three years ago. Here’s to more woozy, spacey R&B that has a slick back beat.
