Video: King Tuff, ‘Headbanger’

King Tuff’s latest album “Black Moon Spell” is pretty much the most fun you can have while imagining being stoned and eating dry breakfast cereal while watching cartoons with the sound off and the stereo blaring in 1973. Unless, of course, you were doing all that in 1973, in which case you nod your head approvingly while trying to remember if you were eating Cheerios or Apple Jacks. The video for “Headbanger,” directed by Jake Fogelnest for “Funny or Die,” resurrects similar misty memories—it’s a riff on the British music show “Top of the Pops.” Here, King Tuff’s Kyle Thomas and gang appear on “Bottom of the Pops,” goofing and raging for host “Ian Coverdale” (played in hilarious fashion by Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols), who introduces them as “King Tut.” Fun fact: The Sex Pistols never appeared in person on “Top of the Pops” until their 1996 reunion tour, although a video of the band performing “Pretty Vacant” was aired on the show in 1977. So … as you were. I’m hungry.
