The desert-fried electro of Gram Rabbit has always a wacky, subversive streak — after all, the Joshua Tree denizens’ debut a long decade ago was titled “Music to Start a Cult To” (and there is one, in a manner of speaking, the fan group “The Royal Order of Rabbits”). In her solo guise, the quartet’s alluring frontwoman Jesika von Rabbit has something new for all those high desert alien dance parties, the single “Psychic Spice.” In the brilliantly executed (and NSFW) video for “Psychic Spice” made by Jessica Janos, von Rabbit auditions for the Spice Girls. The song, available for free download, is from the forthcoming album “Journey Mitchell.” “I’m flower. / I’m power. / I don’t take a shower. / I’m WASPY. / I’m snotty. / I’m Illuminaughty,” she spits. For cryin’ out loud, just give her the part. And renew my membership in the Royal Order.
