L.A. quintet Avid Dancer continued its residency Monday the Echo, playing songs from the forthcoming debut “1st Bath” (out April 4). Jacob Dillan Summers and crew typically started the set fairly mellow, building to rockers “I Want to See You Dance” and “Medication” near the end before the frontman wrapped things up by going solo on “Why Did I Leave You Behind.” Kera & the Lesbians delivered a show-stealing support set, with singer-guitarist Kera Armendariz characteristically animated and fierce, engaging the audience. Captions opened the night with a set of winsome guitar pop. The residency winds up next week with support sets from Haunted Summer and Light FM.
