The day after announcing that their new album,”California Nights,” would be out May 5, indie darlings Best Coast did a show at the Echo on Thursday night, offering a taste of the new material during a 17-song main set and three-song encore. The three new songs immediately won over the capacity crowd as frontwoman Bethany Cosentino, guitarist Bobb Bruno and gang (now a five-piece) mixed in tunes from Best Coast’s 2010 debut, 2012’s “The Only Place” and the 2013 EP “Fade Away.” Sad Girl opened.
