Harriet Brown wants you to see yourself in 20/15 vision. The R&B prince is quick to release a new single not featured on his October release, “New Era.” and it lives up to the exceptional one-man band standards set by that EP. “20/15” is pure groove, giving his vocal dexterity a break to put a greater focus on the production and lyrical throwbacks to the ’80s and ’90s R&B. This sensual jam, co-produced by Alex Talan of Rare Times, isn’t about getting you in bed but rather providing support for a higher self-esteem, “Wish you could see through my eyes and realize the sights that to you have been missing.” Aaron Valenzuela, aka Harriet Brown, maintains his Prince-esque style with tender keys and emphatic guitar distortions while touching a bit on the smoothness of legends Keith Sweat and D’Angelo. When’s the last time you got your eyes checked?
