Stream: Two Sheds, ‘You Get to Me’

When L.A.-based indie outfit Two Sheds unveiled the single “It’s Okay” last August, we assumed a full release of their album “Assembling” was imminent. Some things take time. Some things are worth the wait. Both are true with “Assembling” (out May 26 on Crossbill Records), the follow-up to 2014’s self-titled EP and the first full-length from the on-again, off-again band since 2006. Started as a collaboration between Johnny Gutenberger (ex-Far) and his wife Caitlin, Two Sheds were put on the back burner in 2010, when Caitlin joined Zach Rogue of Rogue Wave in his project Release the Sunbird. Ensconced in L.A. since 2012, the Gutenbergers, joined by Phil Krohnengold, Josh Barnhart and Tess Shapiro, worked on “Assembling” with producer/engineer Eli Thomson at Van Nuys’ New Monkey Studios. The new single “You Get to Me” is a languorous ride, Caitlin Gutenberger’s vocals oozing over light percussion and a bubbling bass line. Whew … Is she singing something about being in the car with the windows down? It’s getting humid in here.
