When L.A. quartet Dear Boy debuted their majestic “Hesitation Waltz” last August, it marked a major steppingstone for a band working to separate itself from the alt-rock masses. The sweeping, bittersweet anthem “is about the impossibility of reconnecting,” frontman Ben Grey says. “Before every fall, there is a moment that you take for granted. This song lives in that moment.” The song gets a slick video treatment here as Grey, along with bandmates Keith Cooper, Austin Hayman and Nils Bue work on a follow-up to their 2013 debut EP. They will be at SXSW as well, doing an official showcase on the Red 7 Patio on Thursday night. And this too.
