Sometimes it’s difficult to find peace in a fast-paced city like Los Angeles where everyone is back to grind every morning. Everyone is going somewhere to become something and that doesn’t leave much time for peace and quiet. There are some who take the time to meditate, but for others who are constantly on the run and surrounded by the liveliness of the city have slowly accepted late-night partiers and honking cars as their lullaby. The Daley Hake-directed video for Act As If‘s title track off their album “Steady” reminds us of the exact opposite. Naturally, this blissful happiness that makes everything go in slow-motion stems from a love but as frontman Peter Verdell sings “steady as we go,” the traffic light colors blur into a Monet-like painting, the beach waves roll instead of crash, and we’re all reminded that there is something good in the world to make us slow down and appreciate things if not contemplate them.
