Seeing as the new trend in rap is to release your album with little to no notice, Odd Future ringleader Tyler, the Creator has announced his newest album via his recently launched Golf Media app. It’s titled “Cherry Bomb,” and there’s word that Lil Wayne and Kanye West will appear on one of the album’s 13 tracks, but in the meantime, Tyler has already shared two of them, “Deathcamp” and “F*cking Young/Perfect.” Both are a departure from his previous album, 2013’s “Wolf,” and hint at an expanded production palette: “Deathcamp” is fast and hard, with a charging guitar riff carrying the chime-and-clap beat like a N.E.R.D. B-side, with Tyler rapping, “I don’t like to follow the rules / And that’s just who I am / I hope you understand,” while on the flip side, “F*cking Young/Perfect” is a mellow and smooth affair with tinges of ’70s soul about how a relationship won’t work because in the end, she “is too f*cking young.” Per a tweet last night, it appears that the Black Lips’ Cole Alexander, Toro Y Moi’s Chaz Bundick and Charlie Wilson are either involved or influences in the pair of tracks. “Cherry Bomb” is due out on Monday via Odd Future.
