Video: FIDLAR, ‘40oz on Repeat’

Pop-punk rabble-rousers of FIDLAR are back, and not a moment too soon. The band — Zac Carper, Brandon Schwartzel and brothers Elvis and Max Kuehn — today announced their second full-length, “Too,” would be out Sept. 4 via Mom+Pop Music. The album, the follow-up to the quartet’s 2013 debut, was produced in Nashville by Jay Joyce (Zac Brown Band, Sleeper Agent, Cage the Elephant, et al). And with that news comes an outsider anthem fans of Green Day will love. Decrying loneliness and broke-ness, Carper’s locking himself in his room with a “40oz on Repeat,” firm in his stance “I’ll never sell out, man” … although he’s listening to offers. (“Wait, how much?”) Even better than the song is the Ryan Baxley-directed video, which pays homage to 15 music videos from down through history (full list below). It might’ve been the beers we had for breakfast, but it seems to us that FIDLAR makes a pretty stellar Hives.
