Kisses have found “A Groove.” Not that the indie duo of Jesse Kivel and Zinzi Edmundson didn’t have one before, but nothing on their previous two albums (2013’s “Kids in LA” and 2010’s “The Heart of the Nightlife” was this deep, or bold. “A Groove” is the first song to emerge from Kisses’ forthcoming third album “Rest in Paradise,” expected in October. Nodding to disco heroes like Electric Light Orchestra and Chic, “it’s a patient song that builds to a dynamic ending and a personal favorite off this new set,” Kivel says. It also features natural instrumentation — the new album was recorded in New York backed by Andrew Raposo and members of his Midnight Magic. Kisses write that the new album “is deeply indicative of the time and place we are in our lives. Since we released our last record, ‘Kids in LA,’ we’ve gotten married and just had a baby. ‘Rest In Paradise’ addresses the uncertainty of our future — how things pass on and are reborn in all sorts of different, strange and beautiful ways.”
