► Active Child [pictured] performs at the Cathedral Sanctuary at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church behind his new album “Mercy.” Below, watch the video for Active Child’s new song “1999.”
► X continue their four-show run at the Observatory, tonight featuring their 1981 album “Wild Gift.”
► Soul trio KING team up with Mara Hruby to kick off the Figat7th Downtown Festival, a series of free concerts on the plaza at the retail center downtown. The show begins at 8 p.m.
► Watts50, an evening of socially conscious rap curated by New York-based Lyricist Lounge, brings Dead Prez, the Watts Prophets, iLL CamiLLe, Food4Thot and Jimetta Rose to California Plaza as part of the free Grand Performances series.
► Immortal Technique joins King Lil G, Chino XL, NME Rifa and Mark Luv for a big night at the Regent Theater.
► Canadian rapper SonReal does a show at the Echo, joined by Chester Watson.
► Long-running rockers Trans Am visit the Satellite behind their latest album “Volume X,” with L.A. Takedown and Wet & Reckless supporting.
► And it’s the first of two night s with Harry Connick Jr. at the Hollywood Bowl.
