Music, poetry, comedy and performance art are on the menu this weekend as the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, stages its second annual “Step and Repeat,” a series intended to “reflect the inherent fluidity of what ‘performance’ entails as a category, and the hybrid, convergent spirit of art-making today.”

The three-day event runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Geffen Contemporary, 152 N. Central Ave.

Musical performers include L.A. psych-rockers Wand, Iranian-Egyptian singer-producer Lafawndah [pictured], rapper Open Mike Eagle, Grammy-winning songwriter-composer James Fauntleroy, hardcore noisemeisters Ho99o9 and an improvised ambient set from Kodak to Graph.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. each day. Tickets are $30 for all three nights and $12 for general admission; it’s free for MOCA members.

Below, a rundown of all the performances:

Friday: Bay Area poet/activist Raquel Gutiérrez; video/installation/musical artist Geo Wyeth; L.A.-based comedians Jibz Cameron and Kate Berlant; Lafawndah; Wand; Danny Snelson and Mashinka Firunts; Harryette Mullen; and DJ Zo and Mike B. with KRN FX.

Saturday: Poet, author and critic Nathaniel Mackey; actor/comedian Baron Vaughn; artist/comedian Casey Jane Ellison; artist/activist Juliana Huxtable; Maged Zaher; a Family Artists showcase with Azul, Kodak to Graph and Ho99o9; and the Mustache Mondays crew of Rosé Hernandez, Santiago Salazar and Zakmatic.

Sunday: performance artist Nao Bustamante (doing a new version of her “Deathbed”); writer/comedian/commentator Kristina Wong; comedian Brent Weinbach; Fauntleroy; Open Mike Eagle; and members of poetry collective Troll Thread.
