Thursday night’s extra-large selection of shows:
► Culture Club has a new album on the way — their original lineup back together, it’s their first new release in 15 years — and they kick off a two-night stand at the Greek Theatre.
► Juliette & the Licks, also with a new album on the way, convene at the El Rey Theatre, supported by Sweethead.
► Joss Stone’s new album “Water for the Soul” comes out next week, and the 28-year-old soul singer headlines the Fonda Theatre tonight, with Liz Vice supporting.
► German industrial stalwarts KMFDM visit the Regent Theater, supported by Chant, Ravens Moreland, Rev. John and Black Rainbow.
► It’s the second of three nights for HEALTH at the Echo.
► The third week of the Twilight Concert Series at the Santa Monica Pier is Latin-flavored — Cubanismo and Chicano Batman play the free show on the beach.
► The free Summer of Soul series at the Hammer Museum Pier brings Dam-Funk (whose new album “Invite the Light” arrives Sept 4), Martin Luther and more to the museum’s courtyard.
► The Ataris will perform their 1999 album “Blue Skies, Broken Hearts … Next 12 Exits” in its entirety during their show at the Roxy. Sederra opens.
► Australian bluesman Hamish Anderson plays the Mint behind his new EP “Restless.” Sam Morrow supports.
► And there’s a good local bill at downtown’s Mrs. Fish, featuring the Black and the White, Freedom Fry and the Bad Years.
