One of the big singles on Jamie xx’s new solo album is “Loud Places,” and the Echoplex was certainly that on Tuesday night, as the 26-year-old producer delivered a set of shimmering, sweeping electronic pop to a sold-out crowd. The album “In Colour” came out in May, and tracks such as “Gosh” and “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times)” got a huge reaction from an audience who remained adoring and unperturbed when the speakers cut out a couple of times. Amsterdam’s Young Marco opened the show.
