Ariel Pink gave a particularly exuberant performance Thursday night at the seventh installment of this summer’s Twilight Concert Series at the Santa Monica Pier. Maybe because some family were in attendance? Maybe because it was a perfect night at the beach? Anyway, he and his bandmates ran through some highlights of his 2014 album “Pom Pom,” and some older material, following a sparkling sunset set by Laura Burhenn’s the Mynabirds, whose new album “Lovers Know” seem to fit the evening perfectly. Classic rockers take over the weekly series next Thursday, with Jefferson Starship and Purple Mountains Majesties.
