Update: Apologies, everyone, due to circumstances beyond my control, this week’s show didn’t happen. Hope to be back next week with a fresh program.
I’m thinking of tonight’s L.A. Buzz Bands as a halftime show. It’s the approximate halfway point of the holiday weekend, after all, and while lacking a marching band, tonight’s program on KCSN (88.5 FM) will have fresh music from longtime favorites (Johnette Napolitano, Silversun Pickups, Eastern Conference Champions) and new favorites (The Moth & the Flame, Dorothy). Plus, a new gem from Gavin Turek (headlining Tarfest on Sept. 26); tunes from Psychic Love and Warbly Jets (both playing the Chinatown Moon Festival on Sept. 26); and new songs from Shana Halligan, Blonde Summer and Distant Cousins. If you’re out of range of the FM signal, click here to stream the show at 9 p.m.
Playlist:
Dorothy, “Raise Hell”
Silversun Pickups, “Nightlight”
Gavin Turek & TOKiMONSTA, “Hemisphere”
